- Five years on Edmonds-based boards and commissions
- Corporate and non-profit work experience
- Collaborative approach for all our communities
Being a business, nonprofit, and community leader has been my passion for over 20 years. I’m excited to take the next step and run for Edmonds City Council, Position 5.
As your council member, I will work hard to ensure that we, those of us who live and/or work in this community, come together for the betterment of Edmonds. From our teenagers and working-age residents to our senior citizens, renters to homeowners, we can all work together to improve our public safety, housing affordability, transparency, economic development and sustainability opportunities.
I’ve served on several boards and commissions in and around the city, including the Edmonds Senior Center, Edmonds Chamber of Commerce and the Edmonds Sister City Commission. Currently, I’m serving my third year on the Edmonds Planning Board and as Vice Chair of the Snohomish County (Paine Field) Airport Commission, which was re-instituted in early 2018.
I want to put my community and career experience to work for you.
My current role as a corporate relations officer brings experience and understanding how corporate and nonprofit entities can successfully partner together. My last role as a community leadership director taught me the importance of fostering and maintaining partnerships within the corporate, non-profit, civic and residential communities. My experience in the wealth management industry has taught me to appreciate the value of a dollar, how to invest wisely, and the importance of working together as a team. These skills will help me to scrutinize the City budget and ensure efficiency in providing services to the community. In addition, through my past service on human relations commissions, on the boards of safety-net services and other local non-profit organizations, I have a deep appreciation for listening to the feedback and concerns of community members and understanding how to put solutions into action.
I am committed to working together with our community members, fellow city council members and other elected officials across the board to ensure the best decisions for our city.
My focus will be set on:
- Open Government, Transparency and Accessibility
- Housing Affordability
- Smart Development and Growth
- Economic Development and “Destination Edmonds”
I hope that I will have your support this November. Together, we can continue to build our community to be the safe, diverse and comfortable environment we know it can be.
